I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable
to God, which is your reasonable
service. (Romans 12:1)
Paul
wrote to the believers in Rome imploring them to present
their bodies as a living sacrifice. What fascinates me is
this is to be considered doing my reasonable service unto
the Lord. This is not to be considered the exception, but
rather the rule. If we were to honestly look at our lives
each of us would have to admit there is something that we
present ourselves sacrificially for. The next thing we must
ask is it really worth dying for. Jesus died for you; He is
definitely worth sacrificing your lives for. This is your
reasonable service.
